Have you ever played "Chopstick Marbles"?
Tonight (October 22) we had our first Halloween party for the children of our school. Many of our children, along with their parents showed up for the fun, games and prizes. All dressed in wonderful Halloween costumes.
There were pretty princesses, and pirates, ghosts and super heroes. And of course a super crazy clown.
There was a game called “Chant”, rules of which are a little difficult to explain in this short writing.
There was a balancing game where you had to balance a ping-pong ball on a paddle through a maze of chairs within an allotted time.
There was the “Balloon Run” game where you had to blow up a balloon, then put it between your legs and run with it to the other goal line and back before any of the other contestants.
We had a game that had six paper cups filled with water, edge to edge, in a row. A ping-pong ball was set in the first cup of water. You had to blow on the ping-pong ball and get it to cross all the cups and land in the last cup.
Another game that I liked was “Chopstick Marbles”. Here we had three bowls lined up in front of each contestant. The first bowl was full of marbles and the other two bowls were empty. The bowl that was full of marbles was also filled with water.
The object of the game was to see who would be able to transfer the most marbles from the filled bowl to the last empty bowl in 60 seconds, only using a pair of chopsticks.
All in all, everyone had a great time. There was a lot of socializing between the parents and teachers and laughter blending with the scary Halloween music that echoed through the halls.

Our first Halloween party was a great success. I can’t wait to see how our Christmas party turns out.
